Things to Know

Is Elevate Training Pilates?

While some have described Elevate Training as extreme Pilates, Elevate Training is not Pilates. Rather, it is a fusion of many of the core-focused fundamentals of traditional Pilates, blended with circuit training, strength training and cardio, all performed on the state-of-the-art Megaformer, created by fitness guru Sebastien Lagree. Elevate Training uses the renowned Lagree Fitness Method™, and it is an unparalleled full-body workout. It strengthens, tightens and tones the entire body quickly and safely, leaving the body lean, lithe and resistant to the stresses of everyday life.

What class should I take as my first class?

We recommend taking a Foundation class for your first class. If the class times don’t work for you, don’t hesitate to just jump into any of the other classes. The classes are small, a maximum of 12 students of all levels. It is a fast-paced class, but you shouldn’t expect to be able to do everything or know all the moves. You will probably have to take more breaks, and that is fine to go at your own pace. Give it 2-3 visits to really get the flow of the workout.

What can I expect at my first class?

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the class. This is extremely important so that you can fill out our studio liability waiver and that your instructor can introduce you to the Megaformer and answer any questions you have before the start of the class. If you do not arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of class and the instructor does not feel they have time to adequately explain the machine to you, you will not be permitted to take the class. This is for your safety! You will also need to have a pair of grip socks. If you do not have a pair, they are available for purchase in the studios.

What should I bring to an Elevate Training Session?

For safety and hygiene reasons, we request that clients wear non-slip tread socks during sessions. They are available for purchase at the studios for your convenience. No shoes are needed for Elevate Full Body sessions, and shoes are not permitted on the Megaformer. If you have signed up for an Elevate Cycle or Combo class, you MUST wear athletic shoes or SPD clip-in shoes. Bare feet are not permitted in the Cycle studio.

  • Bring a hand towel as you will most likely sweat!
  • We have a water dispenser, but some clients like to bring their own water bottle.
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can easily move in, much like you would for a yoga class.
  • Jewelry is NOT a good idea.
  • No strong perfumes or body products as some clients are allergic.
  • We have cubbies for your personal belongings, but please leave valuables at home. Elevate Training is not liable for lost belongings.
How do I book classes?

Do you have showers at your studios?

We do not have showers.

I have an injury. Can I still take class?

Yes. Most of our moves can be modified or an alternative move suggested to work around your injury. Please notify the instructor prior to class so that he/she can offer modifications, so that you can safely take the class and reduce any further injury. As always, please consult your physician before starting any workout.

I am pregnant. Can I still take class?

Yes. Many of our clients safely take classes well into their 3rd trimester. Please let your instructor know so that they can guide you through the recommended modifications throughout your pregnancy. You may refer to the article regarding pregnancy and Lagree under the Method section of the website. Remember it is most important to listen to your body and as always, please consult with your physician before starting any exercise program.

Do my packages work at both studios?

Yes!

Is Elevate Training right for me?

Just about anyone can take our classes – men, women, old, young, ultra-marathoners or newbies to fitness. Sessions are suited for people of all levels of fitness as you can push yourself as hard as you like, or take things at your own pace, on your machine. If you have any medical conditions, please make sure you have doctor approval first.

How often should I do this workout?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue, at which point you will need to rest and recover. Depending on your own personal fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. We believe that 3-4 times a week (every other day) is ideal to allow your body proper recovery time; however, some clients love the workout so much that they come in 5 or more times a week! The key is to listen to your body and find a routine that works best for you.

Can I take more than one class per day?

If you have a session-based package, you may sign up for more than one class per day. If you are on an unlimited package, you are only permitted to take one class per day.

Something came up and I can’t make it to class. What is the Class Cancellation Policy?

Due to the limited number of spaces available in each session, clients must be accountable for their reservations and we must have a cancellation policy. You must cancel your session with at least 12 hours notice to avoid a cancellation or no show penalty.

  •   Clients with packages and session-based recurring contracts will lose that session from their package.
  •   Clients with unlimited packages will be charged. A Late Cancel charge of $15 will occur if you cancel within 12 hours of class start time. A No Show charge of $25 will occur if you are signed up for a class and do not attend.

There are a few exceptions, so please email us at connect@elevatesd.com as soon as possible.

WILL MY SPOT BE GIVEN AWAY IF I AM LATE TO CLASS?

Yes! It is very important to arrive on time, to respect other clients and your instructor. Very often when classes are full, clients will drop in to see if someone doesn’t show up, allowing them a space in an otherwise full session. If you arrive late and are not present when the instructor begins the session, your space may be given to someone who is waiting. There is no grace period in this situation. Once class has started and your space has been given to a waiting client, it is too disruptive to ask the drop-in client to get off the machine so the late client can get on. To avoid this situation, please arrive at least 10 minutes before class. We realize that life happens, but please do your best to plan for traffic, parking, etc. so you are not disappointed when you arrive late and someone else is in the space you reserved. The good news is, if you are late and your reserved space is given to a drop-in client, we will not charge you and you will keep your session credit to use another time.

What if my 5, 10 or 20-pack expires before I have had a chance to use all of the sessions?

We have an expiration date in place because our MINDBODY software system requires us to set an expiration date on packages. We also hope the expiration date encourages you to use the classes because of the amazing benefits you can see by regular class attendance. However, they are your classes to use at your own pace, so if you need an extension on the expiration date of your package, please email us at connect@elevatesd.com.

How do I cancel a recurring package?

Recurring packages automatically renew after completion of the initial minimum commitment. If you want to cancel after the 3-month or (3) 10-pack commitment, please email us at connect@elevatesd.com at least 10 days prior to your next billing cycle or the contract will auto-renew on a month to month basis until you cancel! If you want to cancel your rolling recurring package, you must email us at connect@elevatesd.com prior to using the last class in your package. An early termination fee of $100 will be charged if you do not fulfill the minimum commitment. See recurring package contract language for more details.

I made a reservation through ClassPass and I wasn’t able to come to class?

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to change any reservations made through ClassPass in our system. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. If you have any issues regarding your reservation made through ClassPass, you must contact ClassPass directly at info@classpass.com.

I’m going on a trip for a month. Can I put my account on hold?

Yes, we can place your monthly recurring package on hold for $25. Our 5, 10 and 20-pack classes have a one year expiration date, so a hold isn’t necessary if you will use them within the year. To place your account on hold, please email us at connect@elevatesd.com.

Do you have an App?

Why yes, we do! You can use it to schedule classes, manage your account and much more! Download the Elevate SD app through the app store on your phone.
